Teodora

Teodora is from the highland town of Cajabamba, in the district of Cajamarca, Peru, born on April 29, 1967. She has completed primary school and has 3 children.

Teodora knits alongside her sister, Valentina (pictured together above). Together they raise and sell “cuy” or guinea pig, a Peruvian culinary delicacy. She has been knitting for almost 10 years and finds so much joy and distraction through knitting. Her talent is undeniable and so is her passion & teamwork. She uses her knowledge to help the other artisans advance in their skill, as well.

During the pandemic, Teodora returned to her hometown of Cajabamba and knits with us from afar. We send her the alpaca wool via bus and she sends back a beautiful garment.
