Meet Estela!
Estela is the newest member of Chimuk, joining us in January 2026. She is the sister-in-law of our long term artisan Digna.
Estela recently moved to Trujillo in February 2025 from the mountain town of Usquil (in the Provence of Otuzco). Estela was born in 1991 and has 6 children aged between 3-16 years old. After completing primary school, Estela began working in agricultural fields harvesting potatoes and other root vegetables.

Estela is a talented artisan, she loves knitting in her spare time and is currently enjoying exploring the city, as a change to the landscapes she was used to in the mountains.
